About Us

Vedika Packaging: Contract Packaging of Tea-Bags Group was started by the Bhootra family in 1993 as a contract packaging business in the tea-bag industry with 1 machine and a conversion capacity of 117 tons per year.

In the next 10 years, the company expanded and worked with the biggest FMCG players in India such as Hindustan Unilever, Tata Tea, Nestle, etc. with an annual production capacity of 1600 tons. In order to maintain its 20 machines, the company maintained an engineering workshop at its existing premises.
In 2003, the company diversified into Engineering as a full-fledged business, servicing machines in the domestic market. The company took advantage of the dearth of a dedicated spares manufacturer in the tea-bag business and supplied spares to Unilever, Tata and numerous other packers in the domestic market.

Since then the group has seen parallel expansion in both the Packaging and the Engineering industry. The Packaging industry grew to become co-packers for brands like Organic India, 24 Mantra and opened a dedicated unit in collaboration with Unilever. The Engineering business increased automation infrastructure with CNC, EDM and WireCut machines that manufactured high precision spares for 22 countries.

With the advent of two new directors in 2013, Engineering further diversified into manufacturing tea-bag packaging machines under its own label and servicing existing machines around the globe. Packaging introduced Staple-less teabags as a contract packer in India. Currently, the Group is venturing into the pen industry with indigenous high precision spare parts. The Group aims to exploit this opportunity and proceed to other high precision engineering industries and explore the possibility of producing tea-bags under its own private label.
